This is a true story that happened recently in my life and involved my uncle who was a smoker of tobacco cigarettes for over 25 years. The wife and I were eating at the Hollywood Ale house and we get the phone call that my uncle has a heart attack while driving home and was sent to a hospital in Palm Beach. Anyways, the moral of this story is that the longer you smoke tobacco cigarettes the more chances you have to get heart disease. Since then my uncle has started using the electronic cigarette as a substitute for smoking tobacco cigarettes. One of the different types of electronic cigarette is the 3 piece electronic cigarette. The main parts to these are the battery, the liquid nicotine cartridge and a separate atomizer. Most of the time with the 3 piece electronic cigarette the atomizer will get clogged and either need to be cleaned or replaced. In order to clean this you will need to take a soft lint free cloth and clean around the battery that screws into the atomizer. You must not use any water or chemicals or this will destroy the atomizer. Next you will have to clear out any remaining liquid nicotine that is left in the atomizer by blowing into the L.E.D tip of the battery( part that lights up) and this will push the remaining liquid nicotine into the atomizer which will be vaporized.

This seems like a lot of work doesn’t it? Well this is the disadvantage of using the 3 piece design. One of the better ways to go is using a 2 piece design. The reason why is because the 2 piece design comes with a battery, and a liquid nicotine cartridge but the atomizer is built right into the cartridge. This means that when the liquid nicotine is depleted, you just screw the cartridge off and throw it away. When you replace it with a new cartridge you will also have a fresh “unclogged” atomizer.

Everyone has their own opinion about which electronic cigarette is best for them. I personally like the 2 piece electric cigarette better because of the plug and play value. I don’t want to have to sit there and clean my atomizer all the time because frankly, I just don’t have the time to do that. Either way, any type of E cigarette you use will help you get on the path to a healthy alternative to smoking!

Depending on which brand of electronic cigarette you purchase, the kits will usually come in a nice box that has all of the following inside of it. A battery, instruction manual, a couple disposable cartomizers or liquid nicotine cartridges with an atomizer built right into them, and a standard charger. Always read the instruction manuals first because some of the batteries require that they sit on the charger for 8 hours before use.

First take out the battery and the charger. The charger plugs into the wall and the battery will either push into the charger or it will need to be screwed into the charger. Warning! Do not screw the battery in too tight or else it will strip and the internals will get stuck inside of the charger. An LED light will turn red while charging and once the battery it done it will change to a different color, some will be blue and some will be green depending on the make.

Next take the battery and one of the cartridges and screw the cartridge into the top of the battery. When the cartridge is secure, you may see the tip of the cigarette blink a couple of times to let you know it is ready. The light also blinks because the electronic cigarette is prepping the atomizer and making it clean for you to inhale the water vapor. Next, you place the electric cigarette into your mouth and puff on the tip but not swallowing the water vapor at the same time.

You will need to puff on the tip and suck in the water vapor into your mouth, then swallow to get the feel, then exhale. The cloud of nicotine water vapor will leave your mouth and disappear within 5 seconds.
