There has been some shocking news revealed that the government will pass a law that will require all tobacco
cigarette brands to place images of the effects of smoking on every pack of cigarettes they distribute. It seems that tobacco cigarette companies will have to fight this law because this will hinder their yearly profits, but also save many people from the deadly effects of smoking cigarettes.
Tobacco companies will have a choice of 9 different types of images that they must place under the Surgeon Generals warning.
Some pictures will be of:
- smokers damaged lung
- inner mouth alcer.
- discolored teeth
This is an attempt to get smokers to quit smoking and for other people not to start.
For the first time in more than 25 years, the government is taking a new, more aggressive tack in its campaign to get smokers to stop and keep people who don’t smoke from starting.
The Department of Health and Human Services has selected nine photographs that it will require cigarette manufacturers to put on cigarette packs beginning next year. Among them are images of a mouth with discolored teeth and an ulcer on the lip, damaged lung tissue and a man smoking through a tracheotomy.
The reaction was predictable: Health advocates applauded the move, and cigarette makers threatened legal action.
